About Sian

The idea for Amethyst Weddings came about in 2006 when Sian was planning her own wedding. Sian spent two years planning, sourcing and designing all the elements for the celebration of her marriage to her best friend and soul mate but on the way fell in love with weddings. It was from then on in that Sian knew this was the career for her and in 2012 Amethyst Weddings was born. The name “Amethyst” comes from Sian’s deep love of all things purple and for its traditionally calming, clarifying and creative properties – all excellent qualities for a newly engaged couple.

“Being part of an industry that exists to make incredible, happy memories for others is something really special.”

The sustainable wedding planning services Sian offers

There is no one-size-fits-all to Sian’s planning approach, Sian works with a couple to suit their busy lifestyle and schedule.  The details matter and Sian wants couples to feel like they are stepping into a magical space.

“I’m your key to minimal overwhelm, maximum enjoyment as you plan your wedding.”

Sian offers two different planning services; the full kit and caboodle which is the ‘Full Wedding Planning’ service and gives couples access to her expertise and trusty little purple book of talented suppliers right from the get-go. There is also the ‘Partial Wedding Planning’ service which is a kind of pick and mix service for couples and lets them decide what areas they need help from Sian with. Sian’s testimonials say it all about the service she offers…

“At our first meeting, she was so calm and organised but also friendly and approachable and I just knew that we would get along and be able to work together. Sian is worth her weight in gold and I would thoroughly recommend her consultancy services, as her support took a lot of the strain out of planning our wedding and made the day go super smoothly.”

Where sustainability fits in to wedding planning

Sustainability is at the heart of everything Sian does.

“It’s my mission to help my couples create an eco-conscious wedding that fits perfectly with their ethos.”

It is Sian’s aim to reduce the negative impact of all the events she works on, with the view to achieving zero waste to landfill and utilising all local recycling options by the end of 2022.

In 2021 Sian won the ‘Best Wedding Planning Service’ award for PETA’s Vegan Wedding Awards. PETA stands for ‘The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ and is a UK based charity dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals.

Whether couples are vegan and passionate about looking after the planet as-well as the animals or are just starting out on their sustainable journey, Sian is there to help.
