The Sustainable Wedding Alliance is here to help you build a wedding business that you’re proud of, one that has sustainability at its heart and that balances people, profit and planet.

Alliance Membership

Being a sustainable, ethical eco-friendly business gives you the competitive advantage when it comes to environmentally conscious couples looking for their wedding suppliers.

By becoming a Sustainable Wedding Alliance member you are joining a collective of businesses working together to reduce our industry’s impact on the planet, and taking the first step towards accreditation.

Sustainability Surveys

As part of the our commitment to making the wedding industry more sustainable, we’re on a mission to find out how sustainable the wedding industry is right now and what conscious couples are looking for when planning their wedding helping us to understand what the drivers are for businesses, and couples when it comes to being sustainable.

We run two surveys, one for businesses and one for couples – both are open now and will close at the end of May.

Become Accredited

Having an accreditation from the Sustainable Wedding Alliance tells couples that sustainability is at the core of your business.

After an in depth assessment on your business’s sustainability processes and procedures, we send you a personalised action plan for you to work through. Once completed, you’ll receive the Sustainable Wedding Alliance Accreditation.

What is the Sustainable Wedding Alliance?

The Sustainable Wedding Alliance is collective of business with the joint purpose of creating a more sustainable, environmentally conscious wedding industry. We work with businesses to help them create long term sustainable strategies that they can implement themselves.

The Sustainable Wedding Alliance will be right by your side on your sustainable journey, helping you to take the small steps to achieve your long term goals.

Helping conscious couples plan a sustainable wedding

Experience of working with couples means that we know that you wish you had a greater choice when it comes to sustainable (and ethical) suppliers.  As responsible business owners,  the members of the Sustainable Wedding Alliance are focussed on making both their businesses and the events and weddings they produce more sustainable.

Did you know that the average carbon footprint of a wedding in the UK is more than the average annual household footprint?
Each year, there are approx. 278,599 weddings in UK, however in 2022, due to the postponements, it was estimated to be 330,000.
