Making the most of the Sustainable Wedding Summit

Jan 12, 2025

The Sustainable Wedding Summit is all about action. So, to help you make the most of the day we’ve put together our top tips for the event.

Registration & Tickets
There’s no need to print your ticket(s). When you arrive at BMA House, you’ll be greeted by our event team. Just show them your email confirmation or e-ticket, and they’ll check you in and give you your badge and lanyard for the day.  If you have a lanyard at home/work, please bring it with you to the event, it helps to reduce waste.

If you booked multiple tickets but haven’t confirmed the names for all attendees, or the name(s) of the attendees have changed, please email us to let know before Monday 3rd February.

There will be food and drink… but don’t forget your water bottle!
Refreshments will be available during the day at fixed breaks, including a morning break, two course plant-based lunch and an afternoon break. If you’re also joining us for the awards ceremony there will be a light bowl food dinner too.

For members of the Sustainable Wedding Alliance, there will also be a networking breakfast between 08:30 – 09:30.

If you have any dietary requirements (beyond vegetarian/vegan) and haven’t already made us aware, please email us before Wednesday 22nd January.

Remember to bring a reusable water bottle with you! There will be a hydration station in the networking area and refill points around the building.

Check out the programme in advance
We’ve put together a full programme for the day with all sessions, excluding the workshops, taking place in the Great Hall. The workshop sessions take place in smaller rooms around the venue, and although we’ve built in time for you to find your room, it’s always a good idea to work out which room (and which floor) you’re in. We’ll add the map and location of the rooms one week prior to the event, so check back.

Choose your workshops
Two weeks before the Summit, we’ll ask you to confirm which workshops you’d like to join. We will allocate you based on your requests and we’ll remind you on the day at registration which workshops you’ll be attending.

Questions for panels
If you have any burning questions that you’d like us to address within the panel discussions, you’re welcome to email these to us in advance.

Meet our partners at the Sustainable Solutions Showcase
We’ve got some fantastic partners joining us at the event and you’ll find them in the Sustainable Solutions Showcase, alongside the tea & coffee.

What should you wear?
Please wear what you feel comfortable in. If you’re joining us for the awards you’re welcome to bring a change of clothes if you’d like to. The evening dress code is ‘wear what makes you feel good’. There will be a cloakroom (with hanging rails) at the event.

Make the most of the networking opportunity
If you are coming to the Sustainable Wedding Summit by yourself – don’t worry! There will be plenty of people attending on their own and we will try to make it as easy as possible to meet people across the day.

We’ve created a WhatsApp group for the day. Click here to join, connect with other attendees and get the latest summit updates.

As we will be in the Great Hall for the majority of sessions, we would encourage you to move seats between sessions to maximise the number of people you meet on the day.

Make sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date
As a sustainable event, we encourage you to connect digitally with people you meet. We like to use the QR code feature on LinkedIn which makes it quick and easy to connect and then search for your connections based on date connected. If you don’t know how this works, check it out here.

Help us spread the word
Use the hashtag #SWS25 on all your social media posts. Let us know you’re coming, what you’re enjoying at the event and which moments inspired you. Using the hashtag means all our attendees can easily keep up to date on what’s going on. On a similar note, make sure you follow the Sustainable Wedding Alliance LinkedIn page for regular updates.

Don’t forget your charger…
If you’re going to be using your devices a lot throughout the day then don’t forget your charger or a powerbank and cable.

And lastly… become a member of the Sustainable Wedding Alliance and join a community of sustainably focused wedding businesses making a positive impact on the industry. The Summit is our annual event that brings together the wider community, it’s a fantastic opportunity to learn from experts and each other. If you want to find out more about joining us, book in a call with Em, our Community Manager.
