We have some incredibly exciting news to share with our community! The Sustainable Wedding Alliance has been named a finalist for the Net Hero Award at the 2026 Small Awards.
Now in its tenth year, The Small Awards is a national search for the UK’s best small businesses. Organised by Small Business Britain, the awards celebrate the passion, resilience, and impact of the 5.5 million small firms that drive our economy and support our communities.
Standing Tall for Sustainability
We are one of just eight businesses across the UK to be shortlisted for the Net Hero Award. This specific category is designed to recognise small businesses that show an “exceptional commitment to environmental sustainability.”
For us, this recognition is about more than just a trophy. It is a celebration of the journey we’ve been on since 2020, moving the wedding industry toward a lower-carbon, more ethical future. Whether it’s through our Carbon Literacy training or our SWA Accreditation, everything we do is about proving that weddings can celebrate love for both the couple and the planet.
A Word from our Founder
“To be recognised on a national stage as a ‘Net Hero’ is a huge moment for us,” says Michelle Miles, Founder & CEO. “It shows that the wedding industry is being seen as a leader in the green growth movement. This finalist spot is shared with all our members who are working tirelessly to change how they operate and inspire their couples to do the same.”
What’s Next?
The winners will be announced at a grand ceremony on 21st May 2026 at the historic Christchurch in Spitalfields, London. We are so looking forward to joining fellow finalists from across the country to celebrate the power and purpose of small businesses.
We want to say a huge thank you to Small Business Britain and the panel of judges for this honour, and of course, a massive thank you to you, our community, for supporting our mission.
Wish us luck for May!
