We are a family-run wedding venue based on our family farm in Buckinghamshire. We have a small team of seven plus myself (Ruth) and my husband (Henry). We started weddings back in 2011 when Henry’s parent’s gifted him a small marquee. Henry was working for Oxfordshire County Council at the time and had a strong desire to come back to the family farm. The business grew from a small marquee venue to needing a more permanent structure and in 2017 we converted our stone barn.

The first wedding in the barn was in May 2018 and from there we have grown to a year round venue with a target of 90 weddings a year. Being a farming family we are very conscious of looking after the land we own and farm. We have tried to implement lots of measures to reduce our impact on the environment, the biggest being an installation of ground-mounted solar panels and batteries to store the energy produced. In our accommodation we scrutinise all the products we use and have strict waste rules for guests. One of our company values is ‘sustain’ and this means to us: We want to work with the environment as much as possible, using sustainable products and approaches to nurture our surroundings. As a farm we have an acute awareness of the environment and treat the land with respect. We want to have a positive impact on the environment around us by being aware of and putting into practise sustainable and environmentally friendly processes. We want to instil a deep sense of connection with the earth and environment for future generations.
