Cookies

A cookie is a small text file containing a unique identification number that is transferred (through your browser) from a website to the hard drive of your computer. The cookie identifies your browser but will not let a website know your name and/or address. These files are then used by websites to identify when users revisit that website.

Our website and event ticket platform use cookies so that we can recognise you when you return and personalise your settings and preferences. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can change your browser settings either to notify you when you have received a cookie or to refuse to accept cookies. Please note that our website and event ticket shop may not operate efficiently if you refuse to accept cookies.

We also use Google Analytics to monitor how the website is used. Google Analytics collects information anonymously and generates reports detailing information such as the number of visits to the website, where visitors generally came from, how long they stayed on the website, and which pages they visited. Google Analytics places several persistent cookies on your computer’s hard drive. If you do not agree to this, you can disable persistent cookies in your browser. This will prevent Google Analytics from logging your visits.

For more information about the cookies we use, please refer to our separate Cookie Policy below.

However, you acknowledge that no system can be completely secure. Therefore, although we take these steps to secure your personal data, we do not promise that your personal data will always remain completely secure.

Please note that we reserve the right to charge a reasonable administrative fee if your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. We may also need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them on our website (sustainableweddingalliance.com), and your choices regarding their use.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored in your browser and are used by most websites, including this website, to help personalise your web experience. Some features on this website will not function if you do not allow cookies. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Cookies can be “persistent” or “session” cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your personal computer or mobile device when you go offline, while session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser. You can learn more about cookies at: WhatAreCookies.com.

How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Essential Website Functionality: These cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through our website and to enable you to use some of its features. For example, they allow you to log in to secure areas of the website or to remember items you have placed in a shopping cart. Without these cookies, the services you have asked for cannot be provided, and we only use these cookies to provide you with those services.
  • Personalisation and Preferences: These cookies allow our website to remember choices you make when you use the website, such as remembering your login details or language preference. The purpose of these cookies is to provide you with a more personal experience and to avoid you having to re-enter your preferences every time you visit the website.
  • Analytics and Performance: We use these cookies to collect information about how visitors use our website, for example, which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how our website works. Specifically, we use Google Analytics to monitor how the website is used. Google Analytics uses cookies to identify unique visitors and record how they use a website. It does not collect any personally identifiable information and does not track movements between different websites.
  • Advertising and Targeting: These cookies are used to deliver advertisements more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaigns. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers. For example, we have a Facebook pixel installed which tracks when you visit our website.

Third-Party Cookies

In addition to our own cookies, we may also use various third-parties cookies to report usage statistics of the website, deliver advertisements on and through the website, and so on. These third parties include, but are not limited to, Google Analytics and Facebook.

Your Choices Regarding Cookies

Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can change your browser settings either to notify you when you have received a cookie, or to refuse to accept cookies. Please note that our website and event ticket shop may not operate efficiently if you refuse to accept cookies.

You can manage your cookie preferences directly in your browser settings. Guidance on how to tell your browser not to write cookies can be found at the following links. Please note that Sustainable Wedding Alliance is not responsible for the content of these sites, nor can we be held responsible for any changes to your computer should you choose to make the changes described in these links.

To opt out of Google Analytics cookies, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to block Google Analytics on all websites, or you can configure your browser to block cookies.

You can review your Facebook ads settings and update your preferences at any time.
